For the second time in as many days, Felix Auger-Aliassime will take on Francisco Cerundolo. Who will prevail and reach the fourth round at the 2023 Miami Masters?
Felix Auger-Aliassime was as low as 1/14 to win his second-round match against Thiago Monteiro at the 2023 Miami Masters, but boy, was he made to work for it. He came through a humdinger, winning in two tiebreak sets, astonishingly in two hours and 41 minutes. Auger-Aliassime fired 12 aces to seven double faults and won a healthy 86% first-serve points to get the job done. He will meet Francisco Cerundolo in a rematch of their Indian Wells clash two weeks ago.
Francisco Cerundolo, meanwhile, had an easier time subduing lucky loser Aleksandar Kovacevic. Cerundolo took just 84 minutes to come away with a 6-4, 6-4 win that ensures he remains on track to emulate last season’s semifinal finish at the Miami Masters. But he faces his toughest hurdle yet when he locks horns against Felix Auger-Aliassime.
