Sebastian Korda has an amazing game for grass, making a good showing last season. Cristian Garin is a perfect match for him to get a good start to this season as well, as Garin really doesn’t like the grass that match, primarily being a clay courter. Korda hits through the ball very flat and big, and Garin will struggle with that. Even if not for the surface, I think Korda dominates this match-up wise and is looking very good to progress to the Round of 16 at the 2022 Halle Open.
Cristian Garin didn’t have a great of a clay court season, so heading into the grass is going to be quite the challenge. Let alone against Sebastian Korda, an amazing player on a low bouncing, quick court such as this one and a pretty terrible match up for Garin. Garin is a grinder, Korda takes away that aspect from Garin. While Korda has his ups and downs, if Korda is playing decent, I don’t see a chance for the Chilean as the two clash for a place in the Round of 16 at the 2022 Halle Open.
Sebastian Korda and Cristian Garin have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. Garin doesn’t play big, he likes to hit heavy and stay on the baseline, Korda will blast his shots from the line, but he comes into the net and serves much bigger than Garin, both massive advantages on this surface. While Garin has had some decent results in the past on grass, Korda is looking good to move on here at the 2022 Halle Open.
