Bianca Andreescu has come through a couple of three-set barnburners to reach the third round stage of the Miami Open. Andreescu has already knocked out a Slam winner in Emma Raducanu, doing so in her opening match. She backed up that win with another scorcher, beating Maria Sakkari the No. 7 seed in just over three hours. While Sofia Kenin has come through a couple of routine wins, the Canadian cannot allow fatigue to set in here.
Sofia Kenin surprisingly took out Anhelina Kalinina, 6-3, 6-4, to reach the third round stage at the Miami Open for the third time. Considering that Kenin did not play this tournament 12 months ago, so any points she accrues this week, will have a positive effect on her ranking.

Bianca Andreescu leads Sofia Kenin 3-1 in their head-to-head. Their last meeting was back in 2019, with Andreescu winning on home soil in Toronto. A lot has happened since then, with both players crashing back down to earth following their early success. Injuries and loss of form have played a part, but it’s nice to see both of them hitting their stride this year. I feel Kenin has a bigger mountain to climb to get her ranking moving in the right trajectory. So with Andreescu playing better tennis, we like the Canadian to win here.
