Andrey Rublev got some terrible luck with this draw, having to draw likely the toughest unseeded player right now alongside Jack Draper or Andy Murray, and although he won’t be happy, especially considering he lost to him just several weeks ago, the conditions here suit him more than Lehecka and I absolutely think Rublev will be the man to beat on court tomorrow here at the 2023 Indian Wells Masters.

Jiri Lehecka won’t be happy to see Andrey Rublev on the other side of the net either, but of course considering he took down Rublev recently and with all the other top ranked players he’s defeated this year, Lehecka will have a big chance here. He didn’t look awesome in his first round against Rinderknech, and I do feel that Rublev’s power and being able to run around his forehand more really helps him on a slower surface, so Lehecka won’t be able to dictate as he did in Doha. Let’s see if Lehecka can spring the surprise once again at the 2023 Indian Wells Masters.

As alluded to earlier, Lehecka just beat him recently, granted on a quicker hard court after Rublev had already suffered an upset the week before. In this one though, I have to take Rublev to get past an incredibly difficult first test and set the tone that he is one of the players to beat and book himself a place in the Round of 32 of the 2023 Indian Wells Masters.
