Mackenzie McDonald got his revenge over Nishioka, taking him down in 3 sets after falling in straight sets to him in the 3rd round of the Australian Open. He’s playing some solid tennis right now, and although Michael Mmoh will certainly present a tough challenge, I expect McDonald to be the man to beat in this one as he looks ahead here at the 2023 Delray Beach Open.

Michael Mmoh took out 4th seed Denis Shapovalov in a tight 3 setter in front of his home crowd, playing some great tennis and with a good opportunity to get a semifinal under his belt. Mackenzie McDonald does have more experience though, and I expect this to be a very tough contest as Mmoh looks to pull off yet another upset for a place in the last four of the 2023 Delray Beach Open.

Mackenzie McDonald and Michael Mmoh have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. McDonald looked very strong against Nishioka, and I definitely think he has some strengths that Mmoh lacks, mainly in terms of consistency and being able to dictate from the baseline at a steady pace.
