Australian Open: Djokovic vs Dimitrov Tennis Prediction & Pick

Will Novak Djokovic get the win? Will Grigor Dimitrov pull off the upset? This will be a fascinating one, where we have the overwhelming favorite for the title taking on his first-seeded opponent this fortnight. Who will triumph and move through to the Round of 16 at the 2023 Australian Open?

Novak Djokovic played an interesting match to move through to the 3rd round, dropping the 2nd set in a tiebreaker, but winning the remaining 3 sets very decisively, despite being hampered by the hamstring, he’s looking good and I seriously doubt Grigor Dimitrov will pose a threat. The only way that Dimitrov will really have a chance here is if Djokovic isn’t at 100% physically, as is the case with practically every single player remaining in the draw, let’s see if the Serbian superstar can continue marching on and into the Round of 16 here at the 2023 Australian Open.

Grigor Dimitrov got a couple of good wins so far, he’s carried over his form from the United Cup and is playing some of his very best tennis, but I highly doubt it’ll be enough to even challenge Novak Djokovic. I do think with the injury concerns afloat, Dimitrov has the capability to snag a set and earn himself a tiebreaker somewhere in the match, but his record against Djokovic speaks for itself, so I doubt he’ll be able to find any solution to ultimately deter Djokovic at the 2023 Australian Open.

Novak Djokovic and Grigor Dimitrov have met once before, with Novak Djokovic leading the head to head 9-1. Obviously, Djokovic absolutely owns him in the head to head, if they played fewer matches or if Dimitrov had a couple of extra wins I might like Dimitrov to make this a tighter match, but as it stands it seems Djokovic will likely cruise through to the fourth round here at the 2023 Australian Open.
