Paris Masters 2022: Felix Auger-Aliassime vs. Frances Tiafoe Tennis Pick and Prediction

TennisSection previews the 2022 Paris Masters as Felix Auger-Aliassime takes on Frances Tiafoe in the quarterfinal on Friday, November 4th, 2022.

Who will stop Felix Auger-Aliassime on current form? The Canadian powerhouse is in the form of his life as he eyes an unprecedented fourth successive title in as many weeks. Will he seal his place in the semifinal of the Paris Masters when he takes on Frances Tiafoe?

Felix Auger-Aliassime made it 15 wins in a row after recording a roller-coaster victory over home favorite Gilles Simon. With the Frenchman making one last dash on his final tournament, Auger-Aliassime showed little sympathy on the court as he swept past the former top 10 player 6-1 6-3. Auger-Aliassimecontinues to dominate the serving charts, hammering 11 aces and winning 75% first-serve points. He is likely to face some stern resistance against the flamboyant Frances Tiafoe in a popcorn quarterfinal at the Paris Masters.

Frances Tiafoe, meanwhile, sneaked into the last eight of the Paris Masters by dismissing Daniil Medvedev’s conqueror Alex de Minaur in straight sets. Tiafoe had been woefully out of form in the past couple of weeks and was running on an empty tank in Stockholm last month. But the turnaround in Paris has been magnificent as he took down Lorenzo Sonego and Jack Draper in impressive fashion. And his latest win over de Minaur was merited, as he saved four of five break points in a dominant serving display.

Felix Auger-Aliassime leads Frances Tiafoe 2-0 in their head-to-head. They met most recently at the Barcelona Open this season, with the Canadian romping to a straight sets victory. Auger-Aliassime survived a grueling battle against Mikael Ymer in his second-round match. But just as last week in Basel when he dodged Marc-Andrea Huesler, he can be incredibly tough to topple in the business end of a tournament. And expect him to have the edge in what should be a closely-contested quarterfinal at the Paris Masters.
