Tsitsipas doesn’t have the firepower nor the correct shot selection or pace of play for the grass, making this one quite the uphill battle as the two clash for a place in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Halle Open.
Nick Kyrgios got a solid win after suffering a strange defeat in Stuttgart to Murray. He played his famous aggressive tennis, and against Stefanos Tsitsipas, I expect him to keep it up. Tsitsipas really doesn’t like the grass, while Kyrgios may be a top 10 player on the surface, Tsitsipas maybe isn’t top 50 at the moment, so he is the pretty clear favorite here, but with these two you never know what can happen as they battle at the 2022 Halle Open.
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nick Kyrgios have met three times before, with Nick Kyrgios leading the head to head 2-1. Their first 2 meetings both came on hard courts, with Kyrgios winning really tight matches on both occasions, but lost in the Laver Cup last year. I find that match to be particularly irrelevant, while the other two show that we could get a tight match if Kyrgios isn’t playing too well, let’s see what happens here at the 2022 halle Open.
