Hubert Hurkacz got a tricky win over Aslan Karatsev in 3 tough sets, setting up a meeting with a very improved player from last season in Lloyd Harris. The defending champion is looking good to take this one, but with the occasional slump that he has in matches, I don’t think it’ll be easy. Harris really hasn’t been playing too great though, so I don’t actually see him being able to pull the upset. Let’s see if Hurkacz can keep it going and defend the Miami Open 2022 title.
Lloyd Harris has gotten a couple tight wins to set this one up with the defending champion and top 10 player Hubert Hurkacz. He hasn’t looked great for a few months now since his run to the quarterfinals at the US Open last year. I don’t think he’ll have a fun time against Hurkacz, while he is able to bring the heat which is definitely what you need to take out someone like Hubi, he just doesn’t have the consistency and versatility, especially to deal with the incredible serving of Hurkacz this week, let’s see if he can stay in this one at the Miami Open 2022.
Hubert Hurkacz and Lloyd Harris have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. Harris has a great serve himself and a really great, versatile game from the line, but Hurkacz moves the ball around beautifully and really can dictate from anywhere in the court with his big ball striking, it’s what lead him to the title last year and it’s what will lead him into the quarterfinals at the Miami Open 2022.
