Carlos will know that he has nothing to lose and everything to gain as he aims to continue making a name for himself, but he meets the in form Filip Krajinovic here as he aims to cause the upset.
Filip Krajinovic also cruised through his second round match here, beating the always tough Radu Albot in straight sets 6-4/6-2. Filip Krajinovic has definitely kept the form he showed last week in Hamburg, but he will also have to show us that he can keep it up long term. Filip Krajinovic has beaten big name players before, including Tsitsipas and Rublev, but he will also have to ensure he does not take the likes of Carlos Alcaraz too lightly as he has nothing to lose here and he will give it his all to cause the upset here at the 2021 Umag Open.
Filip Krajinovic and Carlos Alcaraz have never met before, with this being their first meeting on the ATP Tour. Filip Krajinovic has been in great form in the last week, but I think that on clay Carlos Alcaraz has shown amazing form this year. It will definitely be a tight match, but Carlos has nothing to lose here, and his forehand and power are something to reckon with. Filip will take Carlos a bit too lightly in my opinion, and this will be a mistake as the up and coming Spaniard will put pressure on right from the start and get the upset win under his belt as he makes the Semi-Finals of the 2021 Umag Open.
