A very interesting match awaits us at the 2021 Barcelona Open. Fourth seeded Diego Schwartzman of Argentina will meet sixth seeded Spaniard Pablo Carreno-Busta in what is sure to be a thrilling match. The two men are very evenly matched and this is not a match that tennis fans will want to miss. Who will win and advance to the Semi-Finals here in Barcelona?
Diego Schwartzman is currently ranked #9 in the ATP world rankings and has firmly established him as one of the top players in the world. What he has achieved is remarkable with his diminutive size, but he makes up for it with his huge heart and elite movement. Since winning the Argentina Open in March he has been in relatively poor form lately, losing early in every event that he has played since. He would have been looking for a deep run here at the 2021 Barcelona to get his season back on track, and he has looked impressive thus far, defeating Frances Tiafoe and Corentin Moutet to reach this stage. His Quarter-Final opponent Pablo Carreno-Busta will be his biggest challenge yet, and he will have to be better than he has been to get the win here and advance to the Semis.
Pablo Carreno-Busta is the sixth seed here at the 2021 Barcelona Open and is currently ranked #13. One of the most consistent performers on tour, he has quietly been having a solid season this year and is seeking his 2nd title in 2021. The Spaniard is in fantastic form, winning the title in Andalucia and reaching the Round of 16 at the Monte-Carlo Masters. He is yet to drop a set here in Barcelona, defeating Jordan Thompson and Bernabe Zapata Miralles in straight sets to reach this stage. His next opponent Diego Schwartzman is a tremendous player and PCB will have to be at his best to win here. While he is lower ranked, PCB should be considered the slight favorite here due to their recent form.
This is the third time that the two players will be facing each other on the ATP Tour, and their head to head record stands at 1-1. This has all the makings of being a fantastic match, and it is very likely to go the distance. They are very evenly matched and it is extremely hard to pick a winner, so the best pick is probably over on games won, or picking each player to win a set. With that being said, we are going to go with Pablo Carreno-Busta to get the win here. He is in much better form than his opponent Diego Schwartzman, and playing at him gives him a slight advantage. Expect a huge battle, but Pablo Carreno-Busta will likely get a tough win here and advance to the Semi-Finals here at the 2021 Barcelona Open.
