The 41-year-old veteran is playing the last ATP tournament of his career on home turf and chasing what would be his 510th win in singles. He takes on Max Purcell, one of the Challenger Tour’s MVPs this season. Purcell has won three titles on the ATP’s second tier in the Indian cities of Chennai, Bengaluru, and Pune. He also finished runner-up three times, most notably in Busan where he retired due to injury. His record of one win in his last four matches certainly shows some apparent struggles and Lopez might sense some vulnerability in Purcell who is playing on grass for the first time this year. Still, it is a tough ask as I expect the Aussie to be in comfortable surroundings. He has fared well on this surface before. But from a value perspective, the Lopez set handicap +1.5 at -154 seems like a reasonable pick. Even if this ends up being his last match on the pro scene, expect the Spaniard to leave every ounce of sweat on the Mallorca lawn.
