Sinner vs Altmaier Head-to-Head
Jannik Sinner leads Daniel Altmaier 1-0 in their head-to-head on the ATP Tour. Their only previous meeting came in a grand slam, with Sinner taking Altmaier out in 5 sets in the opening round of the 2022 US Open.
Sinner vs Altmaier Prediction
Both players had excellent opening matches, with Sinner brushing aside Alexandre Muller and Altmaier knocking out Huesler, both in straight sets. Altmaier can play some flashy and brilliant tennis, but he lacks the pure baseline power Sinner possesses which is required to succeed on such a slow court. Sinner will be one of the players to benefit from these conditions the most, with the ability to punish lackluster serving and take control of many of the rallies. Altmaier will have his work cut out for him despite a great clay court season, and I fully expect the Italian to make his way through to the third round of the 2023 French Open.
