Casper Ruud leads Holger Rune 4-1 in their head-to-head on the ATP Tour. Their first four meetings were far before Rune established himself as a top 10 player, with their most recent meeting coming in the semifinals of Rome in which Rune won a close 3-setter. They met in the quarterfinals of the French Open last year, but under much different circumstances.

Ruud vs Rune Prediction

Casper Ruud took his revenge over Nicolas Jarry, taking him out 7-6, 7-5, 7-5. Jarry made 67 unforced errors over three sets, giving Ruud a lot of free points and largely helping him out, but Ruud was clutch on Monday and will be a dangerous opponent for Holger Rune, who survived a five-set marathon against Francisco Cerundolo. Rune will be coming in as the favorite in this match, but Ruud will be very dangerous as an underdog. Ruud took out the Dane at the same stage in last year’s tournament, and now remarkably we arrive at the same exact match, but with the heavy underdog of last year turning into the favorite here and the guy you’d back to make the final on the bottom half (not according to the bookies though!). I expect Rune to beat Ruud on the big points, and although this has the potential to be a tough battle, I think Rune will edge Ruud out without the difficulty of a 5 setter.
