Top seed and defending champion Iga Swiatek will battle Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur who is unbeaten in her last seven matches. Who will prevail and reach the Stuttgart Open final?
Iga Swiatek came from a set down to defeat Karolina Pliskova 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. It’s the first time in 2023 that Swiatek has played in a three-set match, with all 21 matches before that ending in straight sets. Swiatek has now set up a 2022 US Open rematch against Ons Jabeur who is the WTA’s most in-form player in this early part of the clay swing.
Ons Jabeur, for her part, snuffed the challenge of Brazilian lefty Beatriz Haddad Maia, winning that match 6-3, 6-0. Jabeur has now won seven in a row, following on from her title run in Charleston a couple of weeks ago. Can she dethrone Iga Swiatek at the 2023 Stuttgart Open?

Iga Swiatek leads Ons Jabeur 3-2 in their head-to-head. Swiatek won their last two meetings including the 2022 US Open final. Jabeur has overcome the ill effects of knee surgery and played some inspired tennis in Charleston. So far at the Stuttgart Open, she needed to summon the same gumption to keep her win streak intact beating Jelena Ostapenko in three sets. Swiatek hasn’t taken long to find her range on this surface despite missing from action for nearly a month. Jabeur can test the Pole with her court craft. She’s the in-form player coming into this match and we like Jabeur’s price on taking a set here.
