This will be an interesting one, where one of the most in-form players of 2023 takes on one of the toughest unseeded players in the draw. Who will triumph and move through to the Round of 32 at the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters?
Cameron Norrie had an excellent start to the season, playing great tennis in Australia before having a very successful Golden Swing, despite looking to continue his run in Indian Wells and Miami, it ended rather unfortunately for the Brit heading into the clay. Norrie loves the clay, but I don’t see him performing particularly well here, especially in these slow conditions where Cerundolo simply has much more firepower to dictate play with. Let’s see if Norrie can battle past a brutal first round and move through to the Round of 32 at the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters.
Francisco Cerundolo looked quite solid in Miami, but we know his favorite surface is the clay. At his best, Cerundolo’s forehand is one of the most feared groundstrokes on tour, and these conditions allow him to take full advantage of it. Although Cameron Norrie is one of the world’s best, Cerundolo will come into this match with a real chance at taking out one of the seeds, looking to book himself a place in the Round of 32 of the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters.

Cameron Norrie and Francisco Cerundolo have met once before, with Cameron Norrie leading the head to head 1-0. Although Norrie took out Cerundolo in Lyon last year 6-4, 6-4, Cerundolo really only began to make drastic improvements shortly after. I do find this matchup tough for Norrie, especially considering his loss in Miami. Let’s see if the Argentine has what it takes to pull the upset and move on here at the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters.
