Carlos Alcaraz vs Tommy Paul Match Preview
Will Carlos Alcaraz get the win? Will Tommy Paul pull off the upset? This will be an interesting one, where we have the top seed taking on his toughest opponent yet. Who will triumph and move through to the quarterfinals at the 2023 Miami Masters?
Carlos Alcaraz is in some of the best form of his career, making a run to the title in Indian Wells without dropping a set. Though he comes into this match the heavy favorite on paper, the reality is Tommy Paul is in very good form, and an opponent who can most definitely beat Alcaraz on his best day. For Alcaraz to win, he’ll have to focus on playing first-strike tennis, not allowing Paul to slowly work the points in his favor using his movement and depth of shot. Let’s see if Alcaraz is able to maintain his winning streak and move through to the quarterfinals of the 2023 Miami Masters.
Tommy Paul is playing some great tennis, and coming off a good win over Davidovich Fokina. If he wants to make it 13 in a row against Spanish players, he’ll have to come through his toughest challenge yet in top seed Carlos Alcaraz. Paul will need to serve well, and not allow Alcaraz to win all the quick points. Though Paul certainly doesn’t become a favorite in longer points, it’s his best shot at taking out Alcaraz here at the 2023 Miami Masters.
Carlos Alcaraz vs Tommy Paul Prediction and Pick
Carlos Alcaraz and Tommy Paul have met once before, with Tommy Paul leading the head to head 1-0. Paul played one of the best matches of his career to take out Alcaraz in Montreal last season, coming back from a break down in the 2nd set to storm back and claim the win. With his incredible speed, he was able to stop the barrage from Alcaraz, though in these conditions Alcaraz is certainly the favorite. Let’s see if the Spaniard can claw out a tough win and book his spot in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Miami Masters.
