Jack Draper, meanwhile, looks in terrific form at the Indian Wells Masters after notching another dominant win, this time against compatriot Dan Evans. Draper outmuscled the one-handed Evans by breaking him four times in the match. The 21-year-old was also clutch in saving break points on his own serve, nullifying 10 of 11 break points to record his second straight sets win of the week.

For nearly two decades, Murray has been the flag bearer of British men’s tennis, and he has done a commendable job both on and off the court. His work rate and dedication even after undergoing a career-threatening hip surgery have been superb. This season, he is not leaving any stone unturned. But Draper’s game has exploded immensely in the past 18 months and looks like a solid bet to have a great first full season at Tour level. Expect the younger and fresh legs of Draper to outrun Murray.
