Acapulco Open: Rune vs De Minaur Tennis Prediction & Pick

Will Holger Rune get the win? Will Alex de Minaur pull off the upset? This will be an interesting one, where we have the young Danish star taking on one of the quickest players in tennis. Who will triumph and move through to the final at the 2023 Acapulco Open?

Holger Rune played a flawless match against a very flat Matteo Berrettini, winning 6-0 1-0 before Berrettini was forced to retire. Rune has looked unopposed this week, and I don’t think Alex de Minaur will do much to truly deter the rampage of Rune en route to the finals, as Rune has all the weapons and speed to deal with whatever de Minaur throws at him as he looks ahead to the final here at the 2023 Acapulco Open.

Alex de Minaur took down Taro Daniel in a straightforward match, taking full advantage of the draw he’s been given. He’ll face his toughest opponent by far this week as he takes on Holger Rune, I can’t see de Minaur having much of a chance here. Rune is playing some great tennis and I doubt de Minaur will have the tools to be able to challenge him in these conditions at the 2023 Acapulco Open.

Holger Rune and Alex de Minaur have met twice before, with Holger Rune leading the head-to-head 2-0. Rune took him out twice already, both on quicker courts where de Minaur generally plays his best tennis. Rune’s game is proving to be very effective on this type of court as well though, and I fully expect him to bring everything he’s got to the court as he looks to take down de Minaur and book his spot in the final of the 2023 Acapulco Open.
