No doubt he’s playing some of the best tennis in the world at the moment, and it’ll be very interesting to see where he’ll end up by the end of the week. Matteo Arnaldi will have to hope for a miracle if he wants this to go his way as the 3rd seed looks to advance here at the 2023 Dubai Championships.

Matteo Arnaldi got one of the toughest opening rounds possible as he must take on Daniil Medvedev for a spot in the last 16. Arnaldi will have to hope that Medvedev isn’t on his game, and then he’ll need to try and end points quickly and approach the net, although there are only really a select few players who have the ability to play aggressively against Medvedev, and even then it doesn’t work every time. Let’s see if Arnaldi can somehow pull off a massive upset as these two clash for a spot in the Round of 16 at the 2023 Dubai Championships.

Daniil Medvedev and Matteo Arnaldi have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. Medvedev is obviously coming into this one the heavy favorite, but it’ll still be interesting to see how he plays to the conditions here in Dubai.
