Quentin Halys took out Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in straight sets, a very impressive performance and one that has earned him a good chance at the semifinals as he comes up against Arthur Fils. Although he may be double his ranking, Fils is coming off an even bigger win, and I expect this one to be a tussle as these two face off for a place in the semifinals of the 2023 Montpellier Open.

Arthur Fils earned himself a pair of very impressive victories, taking out Richard Gasquet and Roberto Bautista Agut, both in straight sets. If Fils wants to continue this run, he’ll need to focus on his massive serving to match Halys but really also try to grind out a break if he can. Halys may be just a tad bit more experienced, but I fancy Fils’ chances to make this happen here at the 2023 Montpellier Open.

Quentin Halys and Arthur Fils have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. Both are big servers with some great shotmaking, with Fils being the younger of the two at just 18 years old. He must be absolutely searing with confidence at the moment, and although it will be tough, I expect the teenager to grab another win and book himself a spot in the last four at the 2023 Montpellier Open.
