Will Borna Coric get the win? Will Maxime Cressy pull off the upset? This will be an interesting one, where we have two very different styles coming to a clash. Who will triumph and move through to the semifinals at the 2023 Montpellier Open?

Borna Coric got a solid win over Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech, and he will hope to do so again coming up against Maxime Cressy. Although Cressy may be challenging with his big serve and volley game, Coric has the ability to step into the court and deal with the kinds of challenges Cressy will present. Though it won’t be easy, I expect Coric to grab the win and move through to the semifinals here at the 2023 Montpellier Open.

Maxime Cressy got a great win over Emil Ruusuvuori, taking him out 6-4 6-4. Cressy is playing some solid tennis, managing to break his opponent in both sets, translating his success from his service games. If he wants a shot at Borna Coric though, I think his best hope will be to hold serve and try to squeeze out sets in tiebreakers. Coric may end up being too solid for the American in the end at the 2023 Montpellier Open.

Borna Coric and Maxime Cressy have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. Coric has the game to take down Cressy, but Cressy has the ability to pull off the upset on virtually anyone with the type of game he plays. If Coric wants to hold firm, he’ll have to try and play a little out of his element, but I have faith he’ll do just that and book a place in the final four of the 2023 Montpellier Open.
