TennisSection previews the 2023 Dallas Open as Adrian Mannarino takes on Steve Johnson in the first round on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.

Will Adrian Mannarino get the win? Will Steve Johnson pull off the upset? This will be a fascinating one, where we have two very unique styles coming to a clash. Who will triumph and move through to the Round of 16 at the 2023 Dallas Open?
Adrian Mannarino hasn’t had the best results lately, but he can still compete at the highest level and play some tight matches. Although Steve Johnson will have a say in this match on home soil, I expect Mannarino to take control of the match and play the kind of tennis we come to expect from him. I think this court will favor him as he looks to move ahead here at the 2023 Dallas Open.

Steve Johnson hasn’t been playing much tennis lately, but we know he still has it as well. While I could see him pulling off the upset here, I do think Mannarino simply is in better form and has the weapons to fight past Johnson in what should be a really intriguing watch as the Frenchman has his sights set on the last 16 of the 2023 Dallas Open.
Adrian Mannarino and Steve Johnson have met 6 times before, with Steve Johnson leading the head to head 4-2. Despite the head to head deficit, I still have Mannarino taking this one. Not to mention the fact that they played here last year with Mannarino winning a tight match, but also the fact that outside of that match, they haven’t played in a long time and I doubt Mannarino will have any issues with playing Johnson in specific. Let’s see if he can survive and move on to the Round of 16 at the 2023 Dallas Open.
