Vasek Pospisil being his first-round opponent is great news for him, Pospisil doesn’t pose much of a threat to Auger-Aliassime, so it’s a good opportunity to regroup from a weird loss in Adelaide and book his spot in the Round of 64 at the 2023 Australian Open.

Vasek Pospisil hasn’t had much preparation for this tournament outside of a little doubles with Novak Djokovic, so I don’t expect him to be much of a contender in this match against Felix Auger-Aliassime who is in his peak right now to suffer an upset like this one in the first round. We know he’s been prone to inconsistency in the past, but I believe the conditions for him here are great and he should be able to capitalize on them here in the 2023 Australian Open.

Felix Auger-Aliassime and Vasek Pospisil have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. FAA has no reason to be losing at this stage, and I absolutely expect him to avoid a 1st round upset as he looks to back up last year’s result and move through at the 2023 Australian Open.
