TennisSection previews the 2022 Vienna Open as Karen Khachanov takes on Dan Evans in the Round of 16 on Wednesday, October 26th, 2022.

Will Karen Khachanov get the win? Will Dan Evans pull off the upset? This will be a fascinating one, where the big bomb meets finnesse. Who will triumph and move through to the quarterfinals at the 2022 Vienna Open?
Karen Khachanov got a good win over J.J. Wolf, managing to take him out in straight, albeit a very tough two sets. While Dan Evans will be just as difficult of an opponent, if not more, I really like Khachanov’s form right now, and if he can keep serving big, I think he’ll be looking to extend his run of form into the quarterfinals here at the 2022 Vienna Open.

Dan Evans has been playing some pretty solid tennis this year, solidifying himself as one of the guys to beat and a consistent top 30 player, as he comes up against Khachanov, he should feel pretty good about his chances to advance to the quarterfinals. While Khachanov is playing very strong at the moment, Evans has the ability to nullify a baseline player with his incredible slice and ability to throw off his opponents. It’ll be a tough one regardless at the 2022 Vienna Open.
Karen Khachanov and Dan Evans have met twice before, with Dan Evans leading the head to head 2-0. Evans took down Khachanov twice in 2020, both in 3 setters. While this will give Evans even more hope, I really like Khachanov’s current game, I think he’ll love the conditions here, and I think he can squeeze out a win against the Brit to book his place in the final eight of the 2022 Vienna Open.
