Miomir Kecmanovic has been playing some unbelievable tennis this year. He’s really only lost to high caliber players and has lost in the quarterfinals of his last 5 tournaments to those guys. He can play on the clay too and is definitely a dark horse to look out for in the coming months. He should take down Alexander Bublik, who is no clay ace and doesn’t really have the consistency to compete with a player like Kecmanovic. Alexander Bublik hasn’t played an amazing season thus far, but he certainly has had his moments, winning his first title and taking down the world no. 3 to do so. While he doesn’t have much of a chance here, he can still do some damage with his big serving on the “quick” clay courts of Madrid. RBA is playing at home and he definitely has mastered the surface much better than Bublik, let’s see if Bublik has what it takes to stay in this one at the 2022 Madrid Open.
Miomir Kecmanovic and Alexander Bublik have met once before, with Alexander Bublik leading the head to head 1-0.Their one meeting came in the home country of Bublik before either player really got better. Kecmanovic is looking to be in supreme form right now and is expected to only get better from here. This surface will suit him well as well, so I don’t expect Bublik to be able to do much to stop the Serbian youngster as he aims to book a spot in the Round of 32 against Spanish legend Rafael Nadal at the 2022 Madrid Open.
