However, after that, Pierre-Hugues Herbert was able to just dominate and serve Nagal a nice bagel. Pierre-Hugues Herbert is aiming to make his 2021 season focus more on his Singles game as he has had a lot of success in the Doubles, but he wants to show everyone that he is also a very solid Singles player. How will the Frenchman fare against an opponent, in David Goffin, who he has always struggled against?
David Goffin had a very solid week last week at the 2021 Monte-Carlo Masters, reaching the Quarter-final, beating the likes of Marin Cilic and Alexander Zverev along the way. David Goffin likes to play on clay as he is able to spend more time getting to the ball and planning his way around his opponents game. Goffin is a very experienced player, and he will be very determined to keep improving on his game here as he has gained some momentum, and it will be best to keep this going instead of having to start from scratch. David Goffin will be both confident and wary coming into this Second Round match at the 2021 Barcelona Open as he meets a player who he knows can beat him, even if he has not done so in the past, in Pierre-Hugues Herbert.
