The world no. 7 has progressed to her first semifinal since February in Dubai, after she knocked out her good friend and doubles partner Jessica Pegula 6-3, 6-3. Gauff recovered an early service break in the second set, romping from 0-3 down to win six straight games.

Madison Keys, meanwhile, is looking to win her second title in Eastbourne. Keys’ first WTA title came on these grounds nine years ago, and she wants to repeat history. Like Gauff, the big-hitting Keys has yet to drop a set during the week, but she’s played a couple of tiebreak sets along the way. Gauff appears to have an upper hand in this rivalry, winning their last two matches. It will be interesting to see how Gauff’s backhand stands to the test of Keys’ brutal hitting. But with that said, it’s still a match the 19-year-old will feel confident of winning.
