Holger Rune is the sixth seed at the 2023 French Open and one of the top five favorites to win the title in a fortnight’s time. Rune has underlined his credentials as a potential Roland Garros champion by reaching the finals of two Masters 1000 in Monte Carlo and Rome. Sadly for him, he didn’t win either of those tournaments despite coming to within two games of taking the Monte Carlo crown. Rune can’t dwell on the disappointment of the month and he’ll need to reset and go again in Paris. He has a seemingly harmless opener against Christopher Eubanks who had played just one clay-court tournament in the leadup to Roland Garros. Eubanks has a big serve and very fluid strokes, but those work on faster surfaces where he predominantly plays. Expect the Danish star to race to a straight-sets win.
