Stefanos Tsitsipas will be coming into this tournament as the two-time defending champion, although he very well could be the favorite if not hindered by a shoulder injury for the last couple of months. This match will be a great test for him, especially seeing if he’s able to hit his topspin backhand more effectively and take down Benjamin Bonzi for a spot in the Round of 16 at the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters.

Benjamin Bonzi got a great win over Zapata Miralles, taking him out in straight sets to book a meeting with Stefanos Tsitsipas in the second round of the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters. Although the task looks rather daunting on paper, we all know the situation Tsitsipas currently finds himself in, and Bonzi is a player who will be able to take advantage if Tsitsipas is playing poorly, although it’ll be a tough task, particularly on this court.

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Benjamin Bonzi have met twice before, with Stefanos Tsitsipas leading the head to head 2-0. Both of their meetings came on grass last year, interestingly enough. One meeting went the distance with Tsitsipas winning the other in straight sets. Under normal circumstances, Tsitsipas should cruise by, but Bonzi can challenge anyone on his day, so I expect this to be a tough one for the Greek, but he should eventually prevail here at the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters.
