TennisSection previews the 2022 Hamburg Open as Andrey Rublev takes on Alexander Bublik in the Round of 32 on Wednesday, July 20th, 2022.

Will Andrey Rublev get the win? Will Alexander Bublik pull off the upset? This will be a fascinating one, where we have one of the world’s best taking on a guy who can take down almost anyone on his day. Who will triumph and move on to the Round of 16 at the 2022 Hamburg Open?
Andrey Rublev had an unfortunate loss to Sebastian Baez at the Bastad Open, who, despite playing some of his best tennis in his career, isn’t really a guy who should be having a player such as Rublev a 2 and 4 loss. Alexander Bublik really doesn’t love the clay all too much while Rublev actually holds his highest win percentage by surface on the clay. I don’t expect too much of a challenge for him as he aims to advance to the Round of 16 at the 2022 Hamburg Open.

Alexander Bublik has had quite the week in Newport so far as he plays the final on Sunday. Andrey Rublev will be a brutal challenge in the first round. Bublik doesn’t have a good record against him, on top of the fact that he’ll be having to go from grass, maybe his best surface, to clay, by far his worst. I don’t expect him to be able to do too much here as Rublev seeks a spot in the Round of 16 at the 2022 Hamburg Open.
Andrey Rublev and Alexander Bublik have met 3 times before, with Andrey Rublev leading the head to head 3-0. All 3 meetings have come on hard courts, with Rublev winning all 3. The first 2 went to 3 sets when Rublev was less experienced, and a better Rublev took their 3rd in straights, as they head to the clay, there’s simply no aspect of the Bublik game that will overpower Andrey Rublev as the two clash for a spot in the next round at the 2022 Hamburg Open.
