Paris Masters 2022: Holger Rune vs. Stan Wawrinka Tennis Pick and Prediction

Will Holger Rune get the win? Will Stan Wawrinka pull off the upset? This will be a fascinating one, where we have the legendary Swiss taking on the young and very promising Dane. Who will triumph and move through to the Round of 32 at the 2022 Paris Masters?

Holger Rune has been playing some very good tennis, just coming off a final run at the Basel Open, where similarly his opponent Stan Wawrinka performed quite well, just losing in the quarterfinals. Both players are coming into this one in good form, but Rune is the younger of the two by quite some distance and is only improving. With his incredible movement, power, and consistency, I can’t see Wawrinka doing all too much here at the 2022 Paris Masters

Stan Wawrinka has been playing some solid tennis, obviously making that run in Basel where he beat two world class opponents, including the World No. 4 in Casper Ruud. Wawrinka’s main tactics here against Holger Rune will lie within taking very early risks, the more he rallies with Rune, the more the weight of shot and consistent depth will affect him, and I can’t see him being able to produce enough magic to pull off the upset as these two clash for a spot in the Round of 32 at the 2022 Paris Masters.

Holger Rune and Stan Wawrinka have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. It’s a fascinating matchup, but one which I do not think will favor Stan Wawrinka. If the Swiss legend wants a chance here, he’ll need to hope that Rune isn’t match-ready from all the tennis he’s been playing. Let’s see if Rune can keep it together and continue from where he left off and book himself a place in the Round of 32 at the 2022 Paris Masters.
