He was incredibly strong in the 3rd set, taking him down 6-1. As he comes up against Borna Coric, he knows it’s not going to be easy, as the Croat has been in great form, but with this win, FAA’s confidence will be soaring, and we all know what the Canadian can do when he’s feeling good as he looks to advance here at the 2022 Cincinnati Open.

Borna Coric has had an unreal week, taking out Lorenzo Musetti, Rafael Nadal, and Roberto Bautista Agut back to back. He looked impressive as ever today, and he absolutely has a stake in this one as he comes up against Felix Auger-Aliassime. It’s going to be a brutal battle, with Coric serving incredibly well, I think he has a very good shot here, but when FAA is aggressive, there’s not too much you can do. Felix Auger-Aliassime and Borna Coric have met twice before, with the head to head being tied at 1-1. Their two meetings both came in 2019, when Coric was still playing great tennis and FAA was just a youngster. FAA still snagged a win off him in their hard court meeting, and I expect him to produce that level once again come Friday. I expect big hitting from both sides, lots of brutal rallies but ultimately Auger-Aliassime will come out of this one a semifinalist at the 2022 Cincinnati Open.
