Frances Tiafoe got a very good win over Mtteo Berrettini, after some heartbreaking losses lately, this one was really big for him, winning 7-6 4-6 7-6. He played some of his best tennis, and while Matteo definitely wasn’t at his best, it’s still a very good win. As he comes up against Sebastian Korda, he’ll be feeling really confident that he can continue to make strides here at the 2022 Cincinnati Open.

Sebastian Korda took down Karen Khachanov, a real solid win for him. Although Khachanov isn’t at his best, he’s certainly been in better form than Korda, who’s been struggling to win matches lately. And that certainly won’t be helped by having to face Frances Tiafoe in the next round. In order for him to win, he’s going to have to play some lights out stuff, and I don’t really see him being able to produce that kind of level as he aims to stay alive at the 2022 Cincinnati Open.

Frances Tiafoe and Sebastian Korda have met three times before, with Frances Tiafoe leading the head to head 3-0. To add on to their respective levels, Tiafoe has won each time they’ve played. Korda’s defense isn’t the greatest, when you have a guy who hits so hard and plays so aggressively yet is also quite quick around the court, you know you’re in trouble. I’m afraid that this matchup ill ultimately be too difficult for Korda to do too much against as the two face off at the 2022 Cincinnati Open for a spot in the last 16.
