TennisSection previews Wimbledon Day 6 as Rafael Nadal takes on Lorenzo Sonego, Botic van de Zandschulp meets Richard Gasquet, and Taylor Fritz faces Alex Molcan.
Rafael Nadal vs. Lorenzo Sonego Tennis Prediction and Pick:
World number four Rafael Nadal takes on Lorenzo Sonego, fifty spots behind him in the rankings for a spot in the Fourth Round at Wimbledon. Rafael Nadal has not looked his best so far this week, dropping sets in each of his first two matches to Francisco Cerundolo and Ricardas Berankis. With a niggling foot injury to worry about, Nadal will be desperate to keep the points and his matches short to preserve his energy for a deep run here. Lorenzo Sonego has impressed this season on grass and has had two solid wins over Denis Kudla and Hugo Gaston, so his confidence levels will be high. The Italian has the quality to possibly win a set given Rafael Nadal’s struggles, but the all-time Grand Slam leader is insanely resilient and should be expected to win this match eventually.

Botic Van de Zandschulp vs. Richard Gasquet Tennis Prediction and Pick:
21st seed Botic Van de Zandschulp meets Richard Gasquet in the Third Round here at Wimbledon, and we are expecting a very close and interesting battle. The Dutchman has been super solid this year and had good results across the grass-court season. Richard Gasquet is one of the most experienced players on the Tour and will certainly be up for the challenge, impressing with his form so far at Wimbledon. He served extremely well in his win over the in-form Emil Ruusuvuori and if that continues I give him the edge here over Gasquet. The veteran will make it competitive and I can see him winning a set, but it is unlikely that he has enough left in the tank to win. Give me Botic Van de Zandschulp in four or five sets.
Free Tennis Prediction and Pick: Botic Van de Zandschulp in 4 Sets
Taylor Fritz vs. Alex Molcan Tennis Prediction and Pick:
After struggling for a while, Taylor Fritz has seemingly found form at the right time. He came into Wimbledon on the back of winning the title in Eastbourne, and has continued that momentum, defeating Lorenzo Musetti and Alastair Gray without dropping a set. The American has a good game for this surface with a huge serve and forehand combo, and he certainly has the edge in experience over Alex Molcan. The Slovak has also looked good here at Wimbledon, defeating Marcos Giron in straight sets to reach this stage in an upset victory. After hiring Novak Djokovic’s former coach Marian Vadja he has seemingly taken his game to another level and will be hoping to pose a challenge to the American here. I am expecting a competitive match, but Taylor Fritz simply has too much firepower for Alex Molcan and should win this match comfortably, in three or four sets.
