Felix Auger-Aliassime needed 5 sets to get through where he will face Camilo Ugo Carabelli, in fact dropping the first 2 sets 6-2 a piece. It was a very poor performance for his standards, but he won even on a bad day, showing the qualities of a top tier player. Ugo Carabelli won’t be super easy either, but I definitely expect FAA to regroup and get the win in a convincing fashion in the end taking him to the Round of 32 at the 2022 French Open.
Camilo Ugo Carabelli took down Aslan Karatsev in the first ever super tiebreaker at the French Open, he did get a little help with Karatsev cramping while serving for the match, but he held his nerve and won in the end. Felix Auger-Aliassime will be an impossible task, having little experience and hardly possessing the weapons to take on a world-class player such as FAA, but he’ll fight to the end and hope for some help to be floated his way from the Canadian No. 1 at the 2022 French Open.
Felix Auger-Aliassime and Camilo Ugo Carabelli have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. While I definitely expect FAA to win, I think he’ll struggle a little bit solely from not having a lot of confidence from that first match and Ugo Carabelli likely having plenty of confidence. Ultimately though, it’ll be no contest as FAA aims to make the Round of 32 in a 4th consecutive major at the 2022 French Open.
