Filip Krajinovic got a good win over a good friend in Dusan Lajovic in the opening round of Indian Wells, but Monfils, another ATP veteran, will be a much harder task. He’s still a top 20 player in the world, and he is certainly playing like it. He can play really well on slow courts, where it’s even easier for him to use his big groundstrokes and incredible speed. Let’s see if Krajinovic can hold on at Indian Wells 2022.

Even more evidence pointing towards Monfils is found in their head to head, where they played 3 matches in 2015 and 2020. 2020 was not a good year for Monfils, and yet he still got both wins. I definitely do think it’s a good matchup for him and with the confidence he has at the moment I expect him to move on at Indian Wells 2022.
