Dusan Lajovic got a hard-fought win in 3 sets over Sebastian Korda, taking him down to set up a meeting with Tommy Paul who is in some good form himself. Lajovic will have a hard time though, as Paul has been playing some good tennis for a little bit now, while Lajovic is having a hard time getting too deep in any tournament. Paul will take him down in the end, but it will still be a tussle as he aims to get through to the next stage of the 2022 Acapulco Open.

To add even more reasoning for Pauls victory, their only meeting came just a few months prior at Indian Wells, a very slow court itself that year. The court is playing insanely slow right now, and Paul will like those conditions against Lajovic as he aims to get back-to-back wins to propel himself into the last eight at the 2022 Acapulco Open.
