Cordoba Open 2022: Sebastian Baez vs. Alejandro Tabilo Tennis Pick and Prediction

TennisSection previews the 2022 Cordoba Open as Sebastian Baez takes on Alejandro Tabilo Open in the quarterfinals on Friday, February 4th, 2021.

Will Sebastian Baez get the win? Will Alejandro Tabilo pull off the upset? This will be an interesting one, where we have the top seed taking on a new test. Who will move on to the semifinals at the 2022 Cordoba Open?

Sebastian Baez pulled off an excellent upset over top 20 player Cristian Garin in 3 sets to boost himself into the quarterfinals. The young Argentine has been looking incredible for several weeks now, being able to pound the ball with incredible consistency. He has a great shot at the semifinals as he looks ahead to Alejandro Tabilo, an unexpected quarterfinalist himself. Baez is definitely in better form and will have loads of confidence as he aims to move on to the semifinals at the 2022 Cordoba Open.

Alejandro Tabilo had a pretty easy match, taking on another player who’s ranked a little lower on the circuit, and he does not have an easy one ahead of him at all coming up against Sebastian Baez. Baez is not only a hometown hero here in Cordoba but is playing some excellent tennis, even pushing world no. 4 Stefanos Tsitsipas to 4 down under. Let’s see if Baez can keep up his great form and take down Tabilo to move on to the last 4 here at the 2022 Cordoba Open.

Sebastian Baez and Alejandro Tabilo have never met before, with this being their first career meeting. Tabilo will have to play pretty aggressively, Baez isn’t a big guy, so he won’t be able to handle the power and won’t be able to get every ball. He is pretty mobile though as you would expect, so Tabilo has to focus on playing more of a first-strike kind of game, making sure he lands his first serves. Let’s see if Baez can carry on his great run here at the 2022 Cordoba Open.
