He has had a strong run of form lately on the clay, reaching the Quarter-Finals in both Andalucia and Munich, followed by some strong results on the Challenger Tour. The Slovakian is a very solid baseline player who moves well, but lacks the firepower that is usually necessary to defeat the top players. While he will be pleased with his form heading into Roland Garros 2021, he is up against a very strong opponent in Pablo Carreno Busta, and will have to be at his absolute best in order to have any chance here. Gombos enters this match as the massive underdog and it will take a miracle for him to get a result here at Roland Garros
