Hurkacz was able to maintain his composure after losing the first set, and eventually won the match in a third set tiebreak 4-6/6-3/7-6(4). Hurkacz will be feeling very confident after that victory as Milos Raonic is a great player and he had been in better form this week. However, Hurkacz outwore the big Canadian and he has rewarded himself with a big paycheck and a spot in the Quarter-finals. Hurkacz will know that he is going to have to highly improve his game as he now meets Stefanos Tsitsipas who is in amazing form these last few weeks. Will Hurkacz be able to cause the upset and make his way to the Semi-finals of the 2021 Miami Open?
Stefanos Tsitsipas cruised through his Fourth Round match against Lorenzo Sonego in straight sets 6-2/7-6(2). Tsitsipas’ serve is firing like crazy here in Miami, and when the ball comes back into court from his opponent, he is able to end the points off quite quickly with some extremely flamboyant and precise shots. Tsitsipas knows that if he is able to make his way to the Semi-finals here in Miami, he will have a very high chance of winning his first ATP Masters 1000 title. However, Tsitsipas will have to come through an also very in form Hubert Hurkacz. Stefanos will not be able to afford to enter this match taking things too lightly, and he will have to be on top of his game. Will Tsitsipas continue to cruise through here in Miami?
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Hubert Hurkacz have met 7 times before, with Stefanos Tsitsipas leading the head to head 6-1. The last time they met was just a month ago at the 2021 Rotterdam Open where Tsitsipas came through an extremely tight match in 3 sets, winning 6-4/4-6/7-5. The match was so tight, and I remember seeing Hurkacz actually putting on a really solid display throughout the last two sets in the match. However, at the end of the day, Stefanos Tsitsipas’ determination, experience, and high-level of play gave him the edge. I see this being the case yet again here. This is going to be a very tight match, and it might even go to 3-sets, but Stefanos Tsitsipas will win and book his spot in the Semi-finals of the 2021 Miami Open.
