TennisSection previews the 2021 Miami Open as Stefanos Tsitsipas (2) meets Lorenzo Sonego (24) in the Fourth Round on Tuesday, March 30th 2021.
Will Lorenzo Sonego be able to get one of the biggest victories of his career under his belt as he looks to upset Stefanos Tsitsipas and make his way to the Quarter-finals of the 2021 Miami Open? Will Stefanos Tsitsipas continue to cruise through his matches playing at an extremely high level and not letting anything slip out of his control? Both players have been playing some strong tennis this week in Miami, but only one will make their way to the Quarter-finals. Who will it be?
Lorenzo Sonego put on a very solid performance in the Third Round, beating the in form Daniel Elahi Galan in 2 sets, 7-6(6)/6-3. Sonego has been on top of his game all week, and he will definitely be filled with confidence coming into this Fourth Round match. Lorenzo knows he can definitely ruffle some feathers against some strong opponents when he is called up for the challenge, but he will have to ensure he can raise his level even higher than he has been playing all tournament as he looks to beat the very in form and determined Stefanos Tsitsipas. How will the Italian come out here and ensure he gives it his best shot at causing one of the biggest upsets of his career in the Fourth Round of the 2021 Miami Open?
Stefanos Tsitsipas put on a great display in the Third Round, beating the very experienced and in form Japanese, Kei Nishikori, in 3 sets 6-3/3-6/6-1. Kei Nishikori is never an easy player to beat as he just moves around so quickly on the court that it is really hard to hit winners against him, and you have to wait for him to hit unforced errors. Tsitsipas, however, has been on another level recently, making it to the late stages of big tournaments such as the Australian Open and Acapulco Open, and feeling confident in himself. Tsitsipas definitely has some big titles in his future, but he will be very determined to win his first one here at the 2021 Miami Open.
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Lorenzo Sonego have never met before, and unfortunately for Lorenzo Sonego, there is no chance that he is able to get anything out of this match. Sonego, of course, has been playing some solid tennis here in Miami, but it has been nowhere near the level of Stefanos’ game, and he will have to learn that on Tuesday. I expect this to be a quick victory for the No.2 seed as he looks to keep his energy for the more tight and important matches further down the line in the tournament. I don’t see any chance of an upset here, and I see Tsitsipas winning this in straight sets to make his way to the Quarter-finals of the 2021 Miami Open.
