Can Dominic Thiem bounce back from his heartbreaking defeat in the first round of Wimbledon? Thiem had the misfortune of drawing a top-10 seed at this year’s Championships in Stefanos Tsitsipas. And despite taking the first set, the Austrian lost in a fifth-set 10-point tiebreak in a match that stretched multiple days due to rain.

Thiem’s level was generally encouraging and there were flashes of brilliance as he set his foot on the accelerator and redlined his game for two sets. Sadly though he’s now lost four matches in a row coming to Gstaad.

Alexandre Muller, meanwhile, advanced into the second round of Wimbledon where he produced quite a show in a tight straight sets defeat to Carlos Alcaraz, the newly crowned champion. Prior to the grass swing, Muller had won the Parma Challenger in what has been a fruitful campaign for the Frenchman. He is projected to break the top 80 for the first time on Monday.

Muller’s big breakthrough on the ATP Tour came in Marrakech where he reached his first ATP final. This is a matchup we recommend not to include in any parlay. Thiem has been very disappointing on tour this season (7-15 so far) and Muller, who has had a far better campaign, is the obvious value pick.
