Marterer vs Mmoh Prediction

What a matchup we have here – an opportunity of a lifetime as qualifier Maximilian Marterer faces lucky loser Michael Mmoh for a spot in the third round of Wimbledon. Last year, Marterer qualified for the tournament and won his maiden main draw match at SW19 when he defeated Aljaz Bedene in four sets – his first GS main draw win since 2019. But that run ended with a second-round defeat to Frances Tiafoe. Marterer won’t have to play seed in the second round this time, after Michael Mmoh produced the upset of the day on Monday when he knocked off World No. 12 Felix Auger-Aliassime in four titanic sets. The American has battled injuries this season right at the height of his breakthrough run, and his spot in the world’s top 100 was short-lived. Mmoh will look to back up his big upset in a matchup that is very much a 50-50 on paper. But judging from his previous two wins over top 30 players (Zverev at the Australian Open and Shapovalov in Delray), he lost his very next match signifying that the emotional toll can overwhelm him. Not fancying taking this match outright, and would be best to leave it out on the parlay, but expecting a four or even five-set win either way.
