Rune came back from 2-5 down in the first set there to tame the American in straight sets. His second-round opponent, Ryan Peniston, had beaten him at last year’s grass-court swing in Eastbourne, but the young Dane dealt with the British lefty’s sharp ground strokes very impressively to avenge that defeat.
