It’s a first-ever meeting between the two on the ATP Tour. Djokovic may have a slow start, especially seeing that it’s on a clay court where he’ll need to be at his best physically. Still, he’ll enter the match as an overwhelming favorite.

There have been questions surrounding the form of Novak Djokovic entering the French Open, however, many of those doubts should be erased in my opinion as Djokovic in a Grand Slam is one of the most deadly players in the history of the sport. Aleksandar Kovacevic will be a heavy underdog against Djokovic, and I don’t fancy his chances to trouble the Serb much at all, despite the fact that Djokovic can sometimes struggle in earlier rounds. Djokovic will be focusing on his forehand, making sure that the elbow injury he had recently won’t be hindering his ability to hit that shot. I expect him to look good in his opening match and to book his spot in the Round of 64 at the 2023 French Open.
