Since the draw of the Miami Open was released earlier this week, the eyes of the tennis world were left salivating at the prospect of Petra Kvitova and Linda Noskova going head to head in the second round. Well, that collision has materialized with Kvitova entering Friday’s clash as the heavy favorite. Petra Kvitova and Linda Noskova have not clashed on the WTA Tour. Friday’s second-round match at the Miami Open will be their first official meeting. No surprise to see Kvitova entering this match as the heavy favorite, but 18-year-old Noskova is a massive talent who is unfazed by the occasion and opponent. Noskova is fearless and has a very solid baseline game, something Kvitova will need to be wary of especially if she sees most of her balls back. I think she’ll push Kvitova here, but I expect the older stateswoman to win the bigger points which ultimately could prove enough.
