Paris Masters 2022: Novak Djokovic vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas Tennis Pick and Prediction

TennisSection previews the 2022 Paris Masters as Novak Djokovic takes on Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semifinal on Saturday, November 5th, 2022.

Novak Djokovic will put his 12-match win streak on the line when he locks horns against Stefanos Tsitsipas in a mouthwatering last four showdown at the Paris Masters. Will the Greek earn a rare odds-defying win over the in-form Serb?

Novak Djokovic outclassed Next Gen Star Lorenzo Musetti in their quarterfinal meeting at the Paris Masters. The Serbian former world No. 1 extended his dominance over the young Italian with a routine 6-0 6-3 victory. Not once did Djokovic look under any serious danger, not even when he went a break down early in the second set. He has now set up an Astana final rematch against Stefanos Tsitsipas. Early on in their rivalry, the Greek won two of their first three meetings, but Djokovic has turned the tables in impressive fashion down the years. Will he reach another final in Bercy?

Stefanos Tsitsipas, like Djokovic, looked in supreme form in his quarterfinal at the Paris Masters. Tsitsipas saved all seven break points he faced on serve against the energetic Tommy Paul to record his 60th match win of the year. The Greek star who is seeded sixth in Bercy still has an outside chance of ending the year as No. 1, but will likely need to go on a winning spree between now and the ATP Finals in Turin.

Novak Djokovic leads Stefanos Tsitsipas 8-2 in their 10 career meetings. Worryingly for Tsitsipas ahead of the Paris Masters semifinals, he hasn’t defeated the Serb since the 2019 Shanghai Masters. His best chance to end that famine came at last year’s French Open where he blew a two-sets-to-love lead. Tsitsipaslauded what he needs to do right against Djokovic on current form. He calls his forehand his confidence shot and he will certainly need it to be firing on all cylinders. In past meetings Tsitsipas has always used a lot of spin and power to unsettle Djokovic, but without any success. He will need to tweak a few things to stand a chance. But right now, Djokovic is playing inch-perfect tennis and he should make it to another final in Bercy.
