Daniil Medvedev took down Felix Auger-Aliassime in an incredibly exciting match, 6-4 7-6 (7), extending his dominant lead over FAA to 6-0 as he looks ahead to take on Andy Murray in the final. Medvedev is coming in as the favorite, and while he will be wary of Murray given he’s in the final and especially how he got there, but Medvedev is playing some seriously good tennis at the moment, and I’m not sure Murray will have the chance to squeeze out another victory against a player in this form as both guys clash for the trophy at the 2023 Qatar Open.

Andy Murray somehow pulled off yet another extraordinary win, taking down Jiri Lehecka 8-6 in the 3rd set tiebreaker, saving 5 match points including a comeback from 0-40 down with Lehecka serving for the match. As Murray takes on Daniil Medvedev, he’ll be fully aware his opponent is stronger than those he’s faced so far, but Murray won’t treat this match any differently as is evident by what he’s doing time and time again, if he wants to win this match though, he’ll really need to mix it up and use his skill set at the net and attempt to break Medvedev’s momentum with the slice, it’s all about the tactics for the Brit as he looks to pull off a stunning upset to claim the championship at the 2023 Qatar Open.

The head-to-head does not bode well for Murray, considering Medvedev has returned to form, I can’t see Murray being able to outplay Medvedev from the baseline where I suspect most of the exchanges will take place. Although you never want to count out Murray, and a tough battle will be expected, but Medvedev should look to take control of this one and claim back-to-back titles as he looks to stand alone at the 2023 Qatar Open.
