Will Carlos Alcaraz get the win? Will Marin Cilic pull off the upset? This will be a fascinating one, where two of the powerhouses on the ATP clash in a rematch from just a couple of weeks ago. Who will triumph and move through to the quarterfinals at the 2022 US Open?

Carlos Alcaraz took down Jenson Brooksby with as clean of a scoreline as you like in 6-3 6-3 6-3, playing a great, aggressive match, and really looking like he’s the No. 3 seed. Marin Cilic will be a very tough match, and although Alcaraz knows what to do against him, on these quick, low bouncing courts, I expect trouble for the Spaniard. Let’s see if Alcaraz can keep it up here as he looks to move through to the quarterfinals at the 2022 US Open.

Marin Cilic took down Dan Evans in a very eventful match, setting up a tough clash with Carlos Alcaraz. While it will be a very tough match, I think Cilic has a shot here. If he can serve as well as he did today, I think he can keep this one really tight, but Alcaraz can come up with some great tennis in the right moments, and that’ll cost Cilic if he’s not careful enough with the unforced errors here at the 2022 US Open.

Carlos Alcaraz and Marin Cilic have met three times before, with Carlos Alcaraz leading the head to head 2-1. The one meeting Cilic got was on the clay, before Alcaraz was nearly as good as he is now. Alcaraz won two hard court meetings against the Croat this year, and I expect this to be the 3rd for him, but it’ll be the most hard fought of their meetings so far as Alcaraz looks to continue to display his dazzling level and book himself a place in the quarterfinals of the 2022 US Open.
